My name is Xiang, Jianzhen. I came from an underprivileged family. My class teacher, Mr. Leung, concerned our situations very much and therefore contacted IRD. Since then, I had been receiving supports from the kind-hearted people from IRD, until I graduated university.
IRD does not only provide monetary support to us, but also concerned about the development of our integrated skills. It organizes meaningful gathering events for us the beneficiaries every year, and I have made a lot of friends through these events. We share, we communicate, we learn, we become a better person together.
I was lucky enough to participate in the internship program to understand the challenging works of IRD. I also assisted in organizing a gathering event for beneficiaries and a voluntary medical consultation event for Jiakang Clinic, a charitable clinic under IRD. It was an uneasy internship but I learned a lot in this program and was deeply moved. I would like to thank IRD for this opportunity.
IRD has a lot of impressive projects, such as education assistance, moral education, Blackboard Bursary Scheme, to name a few, these are all very meaningful. Being from the rural, accessibility to information is highly restricted. The philanthropic works of IRD give hopes to our children, allowing them to dream a bigger dream and to have well-round development. It truly opened the eyes of rural children. I am very grateful for what IRD has done to us. I also hope that IRD can receive more credits, so that it can continue to help more children-in-need.
